Meeting Your Driver at MIA Just Got Easier

If you've ever landed at Miami International Airport and struggled to line up your baggage claim with the right curbside pickup door, you're not alone, and the good news is that part of the airport just got a lot more intuitive.

For years, MIA's curbside door numbers and baggage claim numbers ran in opposite directions along the terminal. A traveler at a low-numbered baggage claim might find their closest curbside door was actually at the high end of the numbering, and vice versa, which meant a lot of first-time visitors (and even regulars) walking the wrong way before doubling back.

That's changed. Door numbers and baggage claim numbers at MIA now run in parallel, the same direction along the terminal. On the current terminal map, Door 1 lines up with Baggage Claim 1, Door 2 with Baggage Claim 2, and so on straight through Door 7 and Claim 7, with the higher-numbered doors and claims continuing to climb together around the terminal from there. It's a small fix, but it makes the walk from claim to curb far more straightforward.
